The Indian Army has announced Sports Quota Recruitment 2025 (Intake 05/2025) for unmarried male and female sportspersons. Outstanding athletes can now join directly as Havildar or Naib Subedar without any written exam – selection is purely based on sports achievements and trials.

Eligible Sports (Men & Women)

Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Handball, Wrestling, Judo, Taekwondo, Karate, Fencing, Wushu, Archery, Shooting, Gymnastics, Weightlifting, Swimming, Diving, Kayaking/Canoeing, Sailing, etc.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Education: Minimum 10th Pass (Matriculation)
2. Age: 17½ to 25 years
   (Born between 31 Mar 2001 and 01 Apr 2008 – both dates inclusive)
3. Marital Status: Unmarried only
4. Sports Achievements (from 01 Oct 2023 onwards)

For Havildar

• Medal winner in National Championship (Junior/Senior) OR
• Represented India internationally OR
• Medal in Khelo India Games/Youth/University Games

For Naib Subedar (higher level)

• Medal in Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championship, Asian Championship, World Cup OR
• Represented India in Olympics OR
• Represented India twice in Asian/CWG/World Cup

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Screening of applications
2. Sports Trials (Physical Fitness Test + Skill Test in your sport)
3. Medical Examination
4. Final merit list

Physical Fitness Standards (Qualifying)

Men: 1.6 km run in 5 min 45 sec + other tests
Women: 1.6 km run in 8 min + long jump & high jump

1. Download the official notification + application form (form is on page 14 of the PDF).
2. Fill the form in BLOCK LETTERS.
3. Attach self-attested copies of:

• 10th certificate
• Aadhaar card
• Sports achievement certificates (01 Oct 2023 onwards)
• Recent passport photos
